Vending machines offer free life-saving supplies throughout Weber County

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Weber Human Services (WHS) and Ogden City Communities That Care (OCCTC) has announced that they are expanding access to harm reduction services, though free vending machines stocked with life-saving supplies.

According to the organizations, they plan to install 10 harm reduction vending machines throughout Weber County. Each vending machine will be stocked with supplies such as naloxone kits, fentanyl test strips, hygiene items, safe sex supplies, and resource information for treatment and recovery services, all of which will be free to those who need it.

Previously, a Narcan vending machine was installed in the lobby of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 1400 Depot Drive, Ogden, UT 84404. Narcan, also called Naloxone, can help reverse opioid overdoses
